I’ve worked as a professional game developer since 1993 and during that time I’ve worked on a wide variety of platforms from the Sega Genesis to Playstation2, PSP, PS3, Xbox, Xbox360, PC, Android, iOS, OSX and I’ve converted games from other hardware such as the NeoGeo.
As a Technical Director I have managed programming teams of up to 8 people and I believe in managing people as individuals with clear high-level direction and goals allowing them to do what they do best.
Designed and implemented several game engines/frameworks and hardware abstraction libraries, utility libraries and tools. My software design has always been from a practical point of view with focus on performance, re-usability, maintainability and fast iteration.
I’ve designed and implemented asset pipelines from 3DSMAX and Blender, writing exporters and plug-ins and intermediate file formats using XML, data conversion tools, efficient run-time data formats and run-time engines. I’ve also implemented command-line tools and GUI tools and set up automatic nightly
builds with ISO generation.
Proficient in C#, C++, Python, PHP, Java, SQL and I’m very comfortable writing assembly language.
I’ve implemented player control, in-game logic, camera control, character animation, animation compression, skinning, physics engine integration, vehicle physics, math library using vector units on various platforms, rendering using OpenGL, DirectX, PS2, PSP, Xbox, PS3, Xbox360, sound systems using hardware directly, Scream, Xact, OpenAL, run-time data streaming, debugging, profiling and optimizing such as rewriting algorithms using platform-specific hardware and minimizing instruction- and data-cache misses.
